The wooden box that proved the idea
An old wooden box, arcade buttons, a single-board computer, and the first DartArcade scoring app proved the basic idea: physical scoring could keep a darts night moving.

DartArcade by Meco Tech is a physical darts scoring console that connects to your TV for homes, pubs, clubs, and venues.
DartArcade started as a practical fix for scorekeeping frustration and grew through real play, rough prototypes, hard lessons, and repeated improvement.

DartArcade was built because normal scorekeeping tools kept breaking the flow of real darts nights.
Chalk went missing, boards stopped writing properly, whiteboard lines had to be redrawn, and markers dried out at the wrong time.
After trying several physical scorekeeping ideas, the same problem remained: keeping score still interrupted the night.
Years of software development made the next step obvious: build the scoring system. But a phone or tablet still did not fit the room. The game needed physical controls and a shared TV display that everyone could follow.
The early consoles were used in real games, and each generation changed what needed to be stronger, simpler, or easier to support.

An old wooden box, arcade buttons, a single-board computer, and the first DartArcade scoring app proved the basic idea: physical scoring could keep a darts night moving.

When the bar area was remodelled, the console needed to look better. This decoupage version improved the presentation while keeping the same physical-button idea.

A cleaner plastic enclosure, printed wrap, and more games pushed DartArcade closer to something that could move beyond one private setup.

This version looked much closer to a product and exposed the support, security, maintenance, and hardware lessons that shaped the current console.
Gen 1 combines the current physical console, current software, and support tools with lessons learned through repeated play and multiple prototype generations.
The core DartArcade experience was shaped through repeated home and social darts sessions before the public Gen 1 console.
Each console generation changed the enclosure, controls, software, or support approach based on what real use exposed.
Production test units were used before public release to validate the hardware, software, and support workflow.
The console gives scoring a fixed place, the TV keeps the match visible, and the room can stay involved without passing devices around.
Physical controls make scoring quick, visible, and easy for the player at the oche.
The room follows the game on a shared screen instead of crowding around a small app display.
The later prototypes made it clear that a physical console also needs a practical support, diagnostics, and repair path.
DartArcade was shaped around groups playing together and a game state the whole room can follow.
DartArcade is the product and brand. Meco Tech is the company behind it, bringing together the software, hardware development, support process, and customer care needed to deliver the physical console experience.
The current DartArcade console brings those lessons into a cleaner, stronger, supportable product for homes and commercial venues.
